Scholarship Reminder
Remember to submit your application for a UW-Superior Foundation Distance Learning scholarship. Applications must be received by June 16th. The application form and criteria are online at http://www2.uwsuper.edu/cee/dlc/Academic_Fees/.

Learn@UW-Superior Upgrade
Learn@UW-Superior will be unavailable until Tuesday, May 27th due to a systemwide upgrade. When you return to your online courses, you'll find some changes in the look and location of some functions. Check the online Student Guide link on the login page if you need help in navigating the updated system.

Advisor Retirements
Most of you have heard that Barbara Doherty, Ron Harshman, and Sharon Lavine will be retiring in the next several months. Each of these dedicated advisors has worked with adult learners at UW-Superior for nearly 30 years. Please join me in thanking them for their service. If you'd like to share a memory or two, send me a note.

The process is well underway for hiring new advisors for the center. I'll let you know as these new advisors join us this summer.

End of the Term
Tomorrow is the final day of the spring semester. If you've worked steadily toward your goals, your final assignments and activities should be completed or nearly so. Remember that your grades are posted in My E-Hive...they'll be available after Memorial Day. Congratulations on your academic progress.

Summer and Fall Enrollment is Underway
Last call for first summer session, and time to act for fall! If you haven't completed advising and registration, make your advising appointment today.

Check Your Summer Course Schedule
It's important to remember that Summer College courses don't all start on May 19th. Many courses start in June, and others in July. The start and end dates for each course are listed in the schedule. Make a note!

Learn@UW-Superior Outage

Learn@UW-Superior will be unavailable over the Memorial Day weekend for an important system upgrade. The outage will last from 8 PM Thursday, May 22nd through Tuesday, May 27th. Please plan your summer course activities around this outage. The scheduling is certainly inconvenient, but this time period was the preference of the majority of UW System campuses.

Congratulations to our Graduates!
Twenty-five of you will graduate Saturday - one of our largest groups in years. Those of you who will cross the stage can relax for a moment and reflect on your accomplishments. You've come a long way indeed.

Be sure to join us before the ceremony for the group photo at 1:10 PM. Look for the Distance Learning sign near the student lineup area.

Student Regent
Kevin Opgenorth of UW-Platteville was appointed today as the nontraditional student Regent for the next two years. For more information about the new Regent, see http://www.wisgov.state.wi.us/journal_media_detail.asp?locid=19&prid=3374
We're proud that four of you were applicants, and at least one a finalist, for this position.

Scholarships

The updated scholarship criteria will be posted on our website on Monday at http://www.uwsuper.edu/distancelearning/Academic_Fees/. The primary change from previous years is in the number of completed credits required. We now require 60 credits completed, with 30 of those credits completed in our program. Here are the full criteria:

1. Applicant has 60 credits completed
2. Thirty (30) credits of the 60 required credits must be completed through the Distance Learning Program.
3. Spring Semester 2008 cumulative GPA must be 3.0 or better.
4. Students must register for at least 6 credits in Fall Semester 2008.

Distance Learning Program scholarships must be used for Fall Semester 2008. Scholarship monies will be available after September 2, 2008.

We hope all of you who are eligible will apply.
